Platak, Rijeka's favorite weekend ski resort, is situated only 30 km from the city. Most probably, Platak is the only ski resort in the region where one may stand on a snow coverd mountain top (1 363 m) and enjoy the view of the sea. Platak was built in the middle of the 20th century, and since then it has been known as Rijeka's most popular weekend destination.

As a small skiing centre, Platak has the following ski slopes: Radeševo 1, Radeševo 2, Tourist slope Radeševo, Pribeniš 1, Tourist slope Pribeniš, Tešnje and Baby slope.

Besides skiing, Platak also offers other forms of winter activities. In the valley Pribeniš there is 1 km long path for motor sledge. For all who like sledding, the old ski slope was transformed into a toboggan, and during the season 2005/06, at the slope Pribeniš, a little snow-park was bulit.
